Sze-Wing Chan Portrait

Sze-Wing Chan is an architect and designer working across architecture, interior design, and installation. Grounded in an interest in constructing spatial wonder, her work explores how materials and form shape atmospheric and unexpected experiences. Through material exploration, she seeks to create spaces where visitors encounter subtle moments of wonder through the tactile and perceptual qualities of the constructed environment.

Chan is a registered architect based in Hong Kong. She completed her Master of Architecture at Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands in 2019, after studying architecture in Hong Kong. Prior to establishing her independent practice, she worked at Kengo Kuma & Associates in Tokyo, Studio Ossidiana in the Netherlands, and Shadow Design in Hong Kong, contributing to projects including the New Kistefos Museum Competition and Art Pavilion M in the Netherlands, which was shortlisted for the EU Mies Award.

Her work was recognised with the DFA Young Design Talent Award (2024), awarded to emerging designers in Hong Kong for their creativity and promise.
